Release - CMR03

After over 3 years of virtual silence, THE SEA SHALL NOT HAVE THEM returned to finally deliver their debut album "MOUTH" in November 2012.

Appearing in 2008 with the release of their mini album TRACES, TSSNHT became live favourites at Brisbane venues such as renowned DIY venue The Hangar, attracting positive reviews for their live performances like this from Matt O'Neill at Time Off - "A beautifully captivating mélange of post-rock, electronic flourishes and angular riffs, as well as one of Brisbane’s most promising bands… they shimmer with post-apocalyptic melody and widescreen melancholia and the duo’s ability to govern such gigantic tracks in a live environment will always remain impressive…” (Matt O’Neill – Time Off Magazine May 2008)

Then…. they kind of disappeared…

Fast forward 3 years - "MOUTH" was recorded in a blur in 6 days in November 2011, and mixed in a similar time frame. After laying down drums and keys over 2 days at Airlock Studios in Brisbane, the band set up camp at a secret Gold Coast location known as The Compound with co-producer Mark Duckworth and an arsenal of guitars, basses, amps and pedals. "MOUTH" also sees the instrumental two piece expand their sonic palette to incorporate haunting piano lines, soaring keys and even glockenspiel and toy piano into their raging drum and guitar assault.

The end result is an album in the truest sense of the word - to be listened to from end to end - and it is not hard to get lost in the hypnotic swirls of it all.

"Subtly melding electronica and layered piano and bass lines to their onerous drums-and-guitar blueprint, TSSNHT manage to create a veritable menagerie of sounds that evoke untapped levels of depth and resonant interplay…" Brendon Telford, The Music review Nov 2012 themusic.com.au/reviews/album/2012/11/13/the-sea-shall-not-have-them-mouth-brendan-telford/
